Which would you prefer to have – a photograph of a great moment in your life, or the actual experience?
But we spend so much of our lives thinking about those tiny, two-dimensional snapshots of bits of our actual lives, that we forget that it’s actually still happening (OVER HERE)!
Rather than being “in the moment” we spend all our time letting our brain revisit the past.
And it’s not even a “true” past, because our brain filters out so much of what goes on around us.
But right now, under our noses, a real life is still happening.
If we’re not paying attention, it still keeps going, but we get further and further behind. You’ve had this happen, right?
Get thinking about something to hard, and you forget to make that turn off the freeway to work. Then you have to turn around and go back, just to get where you were originally wanting to go.
“Invisible grace and never-ending abundance.”
THAT’S what we need to look for and focus on.
Three or four times today, remind yourself that those snapshots are the past, but you’re going to experience NOW, as it happens, without missing a single, blessed moment.
