What do you choose to believe today?
Our culture tells us continually about all the “problems” we have to deal with every day, and we’re encouraged to keep looking for ways to solve them.
But what if they aren’t real?
What if, instead of counting every calorie in the food you eat today (because you’re told you should weigh less than you do), what if instead you took a moment to offer thanks for the fact that you have enough to eat?
What if, instead of hurrying through your morning routine,(because you never seem to have enough time to get everything done), you just relax and enjoy the fact that you get another day?
What if, instead of fussing at your child about what they want to wear to school, you just agree, and give them big hugs to start their day?
If we focus ALL of our attention on the good things we have, those problems melt away like fog in sunshine.
And suddenly, the air is clear. You can see the truth, the path forward, and what you REALLY need to be doing.
Which would you prefer?
Because you can make a conscious decision to ignore those “problems”, and make room in your head for that Divine Grace.
Just once today, stop the voice in your head. Shut it down. And let the fog and mist fade away, while you REALLY look at the blessings you have.
Allow yourself that moment of peace.
